Times tables game: one mission for every table
The star map has one planet for each times table, from 2 to 10, and a galaxy for mixed tables. Pick a planet and the ship takes off: a problem like “7 × 8” appears on the console screen, with four answers to choose from. Every right answer moves the ship closer to the planet; ten right answers complete the mission.
If you get one wrong, the right answer lights up and that problem comes back at the end: the ship never moves backwards. When the mission ends, the planet keeps up to three stars depending on the mistakes, so you can see at a glance which tables are solid and which need more practice.
What kids practice
- The 2 to 10 times tables, by answering instead of reciting.
- Each table out of order: the problems never come in a row.
- Telling similar results apart: the wrong answers are the neighboring facts (7 × 7 and 7 × 9 when the problem is 7 × 8).
- Seeing their own progress: every mission leaves stars on its planet.
It works on a computer, tablet or phone, with nothing to download. The stars are saved on the device.
A multiplication game that asks out of order
Times tables stick better by answering than by reading the whole table. That is why this multiplication game mixes up the problems and offers answers that look alike: you have to think about each result, not follow the row.
For the classroom
On the projector, the whole class can play a mission: someone reads the problem out loud, everyone works out the answer, and one child comes up to tap it. Each planet is one tap away, so “today, the 7 times table” takes no time at all.

Frequently asked questions
Which times tables should kids learn first?
The ones with a pattern you can see right away: 2, 5 and 10. Then 3, 4 and 6, and finally 7, 8 and 9. Every planet on the map is open, so you can go in whatever order you like.
How can I help my child learn the 7 times table?
By practicing it out of order, which is what the mission does: the ten problems come mixed up, so reciting it is not enough. After a mistake, the game shows the right answer and asks that problem again at the end.
What happens after a wrong answer?
The ship does not move backwards: the right answer lights up and that problem comes back at the end of the mission. Mistakes only change how many stars the planet gets.
Can I use it with the whole class?
Yes. The numbers are big enough for the board and every planet is one tap away. The class can say the answer out loud before someone taps it.
