Jasmine tends to climb along a trellis or fence, wrapping its thin stems around whatever support it finds along the way. Its small, star-shaped flowers open mostly as evening falls, when the day's heat starts to ease. At that point, the scent becomes more noticeable and often drifts across the whole patio, reaching windows well away from the plant itself. The leaves are slender and grow in pairs along the stem, letting plenty of light pass between them. While coloring this page, work the trellis with straight, firm lines, in contrast to the loose curves of the plant's stems. The small flowers can stay unshaded, letting the blank paper act as the bright spot among the darker leaves.
