From atop a rock, an eagle scans the landscape with a fixed gaze, barely moving its head. When it decides to take off, it spreads its wings fully and lets the air carry it, gliding with hardly a flap. It climbs higher and higher, riding currents that push it upward, until it becomes little more than a speck in the sky. It can stay like that, suspended, for a good while, circling in wide loops over the same stretch of ground. When something catches its attention below, it folds its wings in a little and descends in a long curve before spreading them again. While coloring it in, pay attention to the wing feathers: you can vary the shades from one to the next to add depth.
