A forest gnome lives among the thick roots of old trees, tucked into hiding spots you'd barely notice unless you knew where to look. It mostly comes out at dusk, when the light filters low through the leaves, and moves without a sound over ground covered in moss. It always wears a pointed hat that tilts a bit to one side, and carries a cloth bag where it keeps small pebbles, seeds, and anything tiny that catches its eye. When it rains, it shelters under a big mushroom or inside a hollow log and waits there without any rush. Try greens and browns if you want it to blend into its surroundings, or give the hat a color that stands out instead.
